His talk will highlight the integration of genomic medicine into acute and critical care settings, with a focus on rapid genome sequencing, biomedical informatics, and innovative approaches to improving diagnosis and care for critically ill infants and children.
About Dr. Bimal Chaudhari
Dr. Bimal P. Chaudhari is a neonatologist, medical geneticist, and translational informaticist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. His clinical work focuses on the evaluation and management of suspected genetic conditions in fetal and neonatal patients, while his research centers on improving the delivery and utility of genomic medicine in acute and critical care settings.
Dr. Chaudhari leads research efforts that combine genomics, machine learning, natural language processing, clinical decision support, and user-centered design to make genetic testing more accessible and actionable for healthcare providers. His work emphasizes the use of rapid genome sequencing to support timely diagnoses and improve outcomes for medically complex pediatric patients. He also serves as Associate Director of Biomedical Informatics at the NCH-OSU Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) program and is actively involved in national efforts to advance genomic medicine and clinical ethics.
