This August, the Center for Precision Medicine wrapped up its inaugural summer undergraduate internship program, choosing to celebrate by reflecting on the numerous skills and contributions of its first-ever student intern class.

Over a 10-week period, students developed technical and critical thinking skills in precision medicine research by working along side faculty, scientists and graduate students on current research projects. They also gained hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques, various sequencing platforms and didactic learning opportunities.

Members of the Summer 2026 Center for Precision Medicine undergraduate internship cohort and their corresponding labs include:

• Annabelle Hodges – Lang Lab – Junior majoring in genetics and genomics
• Hannah Mello – Hess Lab – Junior majoring in biology
• Nola McGarry – Kisat Lab – Sophomore majoring in molecular and cell biology
• Rajeeev Argarwal – Dinh Lab – Sophomore majoring in genetics and genomics
